It was a wonderful night at 230 Elm! People seemed to be enjoying themselves and it was such fun to see former colonists and friends who traveled long distances to be there. Many stories of growing up in the colony were passed around and happy memories shared!
We remembered all those who went before us, contributing so much to the character of the Colony!
Thank you to all 85 who made the effort to be there, the spirit of the colony was certainly evident in those who attended. I had the pleasure of chairing the 75th and this one, but I won't be doing the 125th!
Jack McKenna ended the evening with his rendition of Danny Boy, as he did at the parties in the late 70's and 80's. The tables were named after the streets in the colony, and the dunes, the rock , Scallop Pond and of course, Lonergan's Lake!
The 50/50 was won by Eileen Meyers, and the $50 dollar gift certificate to Lobster Grille Inn or Back Bar was won by Don Medler. The gift certificate was donated by Tim Burke, proprietor of 230 Elm, Lobster Grille, and Backbar Grille in Hampton Bays. If you haven't been there, do try it. It's a fun casual place on Foster Ave.
Hope you enjoy these pictures. If you didn't see last Thursday's issue of the Southampton Press there is a great article about NSBC.
