Obituary~ Mary Denise Beatty

Deepest sympathy to the Beatty Family on the passing of Mary Denise.  May she rest in peace.

There will be a Memorial for her on Jan. 17th. 11 AM at Sacred Hearts.

Mary  Denise Beatty died at her home in Southampton, surrounded by her family, on December 16. She was 85.
Ms. Beatty was a graduate of Misericordia University. She enjoyed a long business career as a management consultant in human resources. Survivors said her independent spirit as a businesswoman set a trailblazing example for all her nieces and great-nieces. Upon her retirement, she focused on the arts and charitable endeavors such as the Fresh Air Fund. One of her most recent accomplishments was the completion of a fundraising campaign for the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton. She had a deep commitment to civic responsibility that stretched beyond the confines of her own community, survivors said, adding that her activism and involvement in community affairs were in pursuit of bettering the lives of all those around her.

She is survived by a sister, Patricia; a brother, Paul; sisters-in-law, Audrey and Constance; 12 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a nephew, Brian; a brother, James Kevin; and a brother-in-law, Thomas.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
