NSBC Reunion , July 2012

Janice Meyers sent out an email reminding NSBCers present and past about a reunion being planned by Ernie Telford.

Ernie Telford, and his committee (me), are in the planning for a NSBC reunion to be held the weekend of July 27th.

The weekend will entail a Friday evening beach party in front of my home (formerly, Grandma Meyers home).  All are welcome to come down to the beach at NSBC during the day (and there will not be any parking, or bathroom, charge.........

On Saturday, there will be a dinner (with DJ), at the Seasons of Southampton (formerly John Ducks).  And Sunday, Pat and Ernie are planning a brunch (with help from the committee....) at their home which is about 3 miles from the colony on Noyak Road.

The cost will be for the dinner on Saturday night which will be approximately $50 a person.
These plans are just getting off the ground, but so far there has been a lot of enthusiasm.

If you are on Facebook, there is a North Sea Beach Colony page and you can see who has responded so far.  There are also a lot of old pictures posted which you will enjoy.

I don't have e-mails for so many people, so if you would take it upon yourselves to tell your families what is happening, that would be great.

Also, if you have contact with anyone not on this e-mail, please pass it on.  We are trying to get an approximate number.

The Seasons is reserved for Saturday for 50 people (at least).  I think we will have much more than that.
Also, you can respond to me regarding where to stay if you need it.

So, again, this is for EVERYBODY who has at one time been a part of North Sea Beach Colony.  So please spread the word, and make this a happening!!

Thank you!

Rental Wanted

Suzanne Fyffe  asked me to post this message.

We are interested in renting a house in the Colony for the week before or
after July 20, 2012.  David Fyffe is turning 50 and we will be celebrating
with a Luau in the colony.  We intend to have family and friends join us and
would love to "stay close to home", but, our place is not big enough.  Any
help is good.  If you know of a house or space available please contact

Old Fashioned Covered Dish Supper Pictures

We were blessed with good weather, and a good crowd Saturday evening.  We had over 82 adults and 20 kids attend.

Thanks to Mary Bohner and Lorraine Cavolina who chaired the event that was held on the Miller Property.
Here Bob and Larry discuss what a great job their better halves did!  :)

Stacey and Michael Miller were kind to host the event in their yard, and graciously had  the property sprayed for mosquitoes Friday, so we weren't eaten alive.  Thank you!  I escaped without a bite.

Lily Grace Miller and Barbara Bohner did the 50/50 and the winner was Eileen Meyers,  $170 went to Eileen, and the other half went to pay for the chairs and tables that were rented.

Thank you to Mike Miller, Sr. for carting  28 chairs and extra tables, as well as all the centerpieces, coffee pots etc.  It saved us $ by not having to rent them.

Ellen and George Noonan, Audrey and Paul Beatty, and Mary and Bob Bohner helped with the set up, and so many helped clean up,  Cathy McElroy, Larry and Lorraine Cavolina, Don Medler, Jr, and many others.
It was dark by then, so I couldn't see, but there was a group effort to pile and stack the tables and chairs.
Bob Bohner, our resident garbologist, made sure all the trash was picked up and taken away.

We had 3 long tables overflowing with food.  There was a great selection, and no one left hungry!  Everyone was very generous in their contributions of salads, main dishes and desserts.

Blue and white striped tablecloths and sailboat centerpieces provided a beachy atmosphere for our very special colony.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!

****If anyone took home a blue and white Currier and Ives plate, Janice Meyers is missing hers.
I also have a silver cake server , a straw trivet and tray that were left.
